The sky gets darker and uglier.
It's lost its warm, beautiful glow.
As the clouds gather around,
And the wind blows fast,
And everybody else hides,
I stay out here,
Waiting for the inevitable
And the obvious.
And the rain falls,
Gently and smoothly.
The breeze's not too cold,
So are the raindrops.
I don't care for the others,
Who tell me to find some cover,
To protect myself from the rain.
It's a rare moment for us.
An unique moment for me,
As I stand out in the rain,
Letting the water carry
All my worries away.

A moment of peace is a bless on our "Just In Time" reality...

Great poem. I can relate to it; I love to go outside and listen to the rain because it calms me, while most people prefer to stay inside where it's dry.

Heh, I'd rather go outside with my clothes - AKA, whatever I'm wearin' at the time - and just stand out in the rain. Unless it's a huge storm, I can stay out there 'till the rain stops. The mroe water it pours, the better! Of course, I'd leave all my documents and cellphone inside.

I'm excentric, not a dope. :P

Lol, that sounds like fun, I think. ^_^
I also love to go down to the headlands when it's really windy out and stand out in the wind. It's pretty crazy with the ocean waves crashing around. :D

a unique (not an :) )
i like this, i like the sentiment a lot, but i think it could use more specific and concrete descriptions. perhaps adding some other sensations to complement what you've got (how does the rain feel? how does it sound? etc).

is the last line part of the poem too? i think it spells out what you're trying to get to through the poem, so i'd say let it go :)

Ehh, a mistake. I'll change tha' right away. ^^;

Well, I think it's enough to describe it, but well. Maybe 'nother time. Too lazy to do anythin' right now. ^^

And the last line is aprt of the poem, yes. Just a lil' thing of mine; I write the said poem and then add a final, impact line. But this ain't worked this time, apparently. ^^;
