There once was a guy as saddened as me,
A gentle wanderer so kind and so free.
He never seemed to look oh-so blue,
His stash of 'Hearts was always full.

A gentle fool,
Like me and you,
Away from our cruel,
Cruel, crude world.

The wanderer is ever on a search,
Takes his 'Hearts by the bunch,
Whatever he wants, whatever he needs,
Is what men have, and choke on their greed.

Some old guy approaches him,
So wrinkled and of noble kin.
He has what you need to
Break away from all greed.

So fast.
So sad.
So vast.
So rich.

Such generosity comes with a price,
He wants your heart, worse than a vice.
You turn a deaf ear, has big blind eyes,
Can't you really see where truth really lies?

So please, my friend, would you listen to me?
Why can't you see, why can't you hear?
Please, don't fall in that cliff, it's so near.
Oh, God, now I can see, you are me...

It's only one part of a "mini-opera" I've been workin' for a little while, but I felt that I was goin' nowhere with it. I was sorta inspired by The Who's rock-operas, and I read 'bout The Four Noble Truths of Buddhism.
I was inspired by both, and I tried my hand at a so-called mini-opera, sorta like The Who's "A Quick One While He's Away", which is a "10-minute story made out of 2-and-a-half minute songs".

This is/was the first part of my little unnamed project.

Interessante abertura para uma mini-opera... sugere algo relacionado a dramas pessoais... muito legal o poema ^^
